En setiembre 2014, el IMARPE Santa Rosa delimitó y caracterizó bancos naturales de invertebrados marinos bentónicos en el litoral de Lambayeque. Se determinaron tres bancos naturales: 1 de moluscos (Donax obesulus), 1 de crustáceos (Platyxanthus orbignyi) y 1 de macroalgas (Gracilariopsis lemaneiformis). Se identificaron cuatro especies: Donax obesulus (palabritas), Platyxanthus orbignyi (cangrejo violáceo), Octopus mimus (pulpo) y Callichirus islagrande (marucha). La temperatura superficial del mar varió entre 16,5 y 17,7 °C, evidenciando una masa de agua relativamente homogénea con temperaturas inferiores a 18 °C como consecuencia del afloramiento de aguas frías.

ABSTRACT: In September 2014, the IMARPE Santa Rosa delimited and characterized natural banks of marine benthic invertebrates on the coast of Lambayeque. Three natural banks were identified: 1 of mollusks (Donax obesulus), 1 of crustaceans (Platyxanthus orbignyi) and 1 of macroalgae (Gracilariopsis lemaneiformis). Four species were identified: Donax obesulus (bean clam), Platyxanthus orbignyi (purple stone crab), Octopus mimus (octopus) and Callichirus islagrande (ghost shrimp). The sea surface temperature varied between 16.5 and 17.7 °C, evidencing a relatively homogeneous water mass with temperatures below 18 °C as a consequence of the upwelling of cold waters.
